Recommended Gear
|
Anglers are
welcome to bring along their favorite tackle, conventional,
spinning or even fly rods, but the Stripermania is equipped
with top quality Penn rods and reels, Hi-Seas/AFW line and
leaders, and QuickRig Circle hooks. The watchword is light
tackle and Lou has the lightest possible gear for each of
the techniques he employs during the season. His goal is to
provide his clients with a great light tackle experience
and, when necessary, to teach them how to catch and fight
fish with skill. It’s far more fun than cranking up fish on
a gear that is too heavy to enjoy the fighting qualities of
the fish you’ll be catching.
Whatever the time of year or technique all bait is supplied.
When live lining, you will get to experience how live
menhaden are caught using large cast nets for the chore. It
is fascinating to watch them locate the bait schools and
throw these large, circular nets that open to more than
twenty feet in diameter. Many clients say it is worth the
price of the charter to see it done.
